William Grant & Sons

At William Grant & Sons, one of our core values is to think long-term. The Bar Apprentice of the Year Award provides an opportunity unlike any other to invest in the long-term future of the on-trade through mentoring the next generation of bar staff.

Led by industry experts, our aim for this year’s course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to further their careers in hospitality. Through this programme, we will bring the candidates to our spiritual home in Speyside, where we will introduce them to our award-winning single malt whiskies; Glenfiddich and The Balvenie.

Other headline brands will be Hendrick’s Gin, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne, Sailor Jerry, Woods Navy Rum and OVD, with support from our wider portfolio of spirits & liqueurs.

We will deliver brand and category training alongside insights on cocktail culture, what makes great front of house service, and habits of the world’s best bars and bartenders. The programme will culminate in a cocktail challenge, where our Apprentices can work with our brands to demonstrate everything they have learned.

William Grant & Sons are delighted to once again collaborate with DRAM Magazine on this award, and I look forward to meeting the 2018 candidates and delivering them a fresh and exciting programme.
